Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 15 July 2026
1. About us
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the online student portal and learning services provided by Ukuwela.Tech (“we”, “us”, “our”), an education and training provider operating in the Republic of South Africa. The portal is operated on the Ukuwela.Tech education management platform.
By creating an account, enrolling in a course, or making a payment through this portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
2. Our services
We sell access to educational courses and programmes delivered through this portal. Depending on the course, this may include online learning content (lessons, videos, resources and quizzes), assignments with educator feedback, scheduled cohort-based classes, and a certificate of completion or attendance where the course requirements are met.
3. Accounts and registration
You must provide accurate, current and complete information when registering, and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that provide false information, share credentials, or breach these Terms.
If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must consent to your registration and any payment made on your behalf.
4. Course fees and payment
All course fees are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable. The fee payable is the fee displayed on the course page at the time you enrol.
Online card payments are processed securely by PayFast (a licensed South African payment service provider, operated by Network International). We do not collect or store your card details — payment is completed on PayFast’s secure payment page. Where offered, you may alternatively pay by electronic funds transfer (EFT), in which case enrolment is activated once your payment has been confirmed.
5. Delivery of services
Because our courses are delivered digitally, there is no physical shipping. For self-paced courses, access to your course content is granted through your student portal immediately after your payment is confirmed. For cohort-based courses, access is granted on confirmation of payment and course content becomes available from the published start date. If you do not receive access after a successful payment, contact us and we will resolve it promptly.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations and refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
7. Intellectual property
All course materials, content, branding and software available through the portal remain the property of Ukuwela.Tech or its licensors. Your enrolment grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the materials for your own study. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or publish course materials without our prior written consent.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use the portal to commit academic dishonesty, upload unlawful or harmful content, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or other users’ data, or interfere with the operation of the service. We may suspend access for conduct that breaches this section, subject to our disciplinary and appeals procedures.
9. Privacy and data protection
We process your personal information to administer your studies, enrolments, assessments, certificates and payments, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Payment card information is handled by PayFast and is not stored by us. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the portal, including interruptions of access due to maintenance, connectivity failures or events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page, with the “last updated” date shown above. Material changes affecting current students will be communicated through the portal.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you consent to the jurisdiction of the South African courts in respect of any dispute arising from them.
13. Contact us
For any questions about these Terms, your enrolment or a payment, please contact Ukuwela.Tech using the contact details published on this portal, or use the enquiry option on the course pages. We aim to respond within two business days.
