Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to all course fees paid to Ukuwela.Tech through this portal, whether paid by card via PayFast or by electronic funds transfer (EFT). It forms part of our Terms & Conditions and does not limit your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).

2. Seven-day cooling-off period

In line with section 44 of ECTA, you may cancel your enrolment within 7 (seven) days of payment and receive a full refund, provided you have not substantially accessed or consumed the course content (for example, completed lessons, submitted assignments, or downloaded course materials).

3. Cancellation before a course starts

For cohort-based courses with a published start date, you may cancel up to 7 days before the start date for a full refund. Cancellations received less than 7 days before the start date may be subject to a reasonable administration fee of up to 10% of the course fee.

4. Cancellation after a course has started

Once a course has started or you have substantially accessed the content, refunds are granted at our reasonable discretion, taking into account how much of the course has been completed and any costs already incurred. Where a partial refund is granted, it will be proportional to the unused portion of the course.

5. Cancellation by us

If we cancel a course, materially change its start date or content, or are unable to deliver it, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or a transfer to an alternative course or intake at no additional cost.

6. Non-refundable circumstances

Refunds will not be granted where:

• the course has been completed, or a certificate has been issued;
• the enrolment was cancelled or suspended due to a breach of our Terms & Conditions (including academic dishonesty); or
• the request is made after the periods described above and none of the discretionary grounds in section 4 apply.

7. How to request a refund

Send your request to Ukuwela.Tech using the contact details published on this portal, from the email address linked to your student account. Include your full name, the course name, the date of payment and the reason for the request. We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and give you a decision within 7 business days.

8. How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method. Card payments are reversed through PayFast to the card used for the purchase; EFT payments are refunded by EFT to the account they were paid from. Refunds are processed within 7 to 14 business days of approval, depending on your bank.

9. Queries

If you believe a payment was made in error, was duplicated, or a promised refund has not arrived, contact us and we will investigate with our payment provider and respond within 7 business days.
